What is Tales and Tails?Tails & Tales is an independent bookstore and coffee shop in Fredericksburg, VA, dedicated to book lovers and dog enthusiasts alike. We offer a wide selection of books, coffee, baked goods, literary dog themed merchandise and a cozy atmosphere that welcomes both readers and their furry friends.

Where are you located?We will be opening our doors, Early Summer 2025!! at 1010 Charles Street, Fredericksburg, VA. 22406

What are your hours of operation?Our hours will be announced closer to our opening. Follow us on social media for updates!

When are you opening?We have yet to announce our grand opening date, but we anticipate early summer 2025. We promise to update this page, our (e)mailing list, and our social media accounts as soon as we know! We can't wait to see you there :)

Do you host book clubs or author events?Yes! We plan to host book clubs, author signings, and community events. You can look at our Events page or follow us on social media.

Can I order books online?Yes! You can shop our favorites by going to our Shop tab and shopping our store on bookshop.org

Will you have food/coffee?Yes! We will have a coffee counter and some bakery treats for you to enjoy while you shop or read.

It's my dream to work at a bookstore, are you hiring?Us too! We are hiring! We are looking for highly motivated book lovers to join us in the store. If you love books and dream of going to work in a cozy bookstore, you’ve found your place! Bonus points if you have barista experience. We are currently looking for part-time only employees.
